CHALLENGE

Coffee Hit needed a high-impact refurbishment inside a busy shopping centre environment, upgrading finishes, seating, lighting and brand visibility while working within strict centre access conditions and live-site constraints. The scope required careful coordination of demolition/make-good, new tiling substrates, integrated lighting, joinery and furniture upgrades, and a structurally considered pylon/signage solution, without disrupting surrounding trade.

APPROACH

Associated Projects delivered the project under a Design & Construct model, starting with a full Issue for Construction (IFC) documentation package to remove ambiguity and de-risk delivery. This pre-construction phase covered existing/lease and demolition planning, the proposed layout and equipment setout, wall finishes and schedules, lighting coordination, elevations and detailed joinery interfaces, plus pylon/signage detailing and visual perspectives to confirm the final customer experience. With documentation locked, we managed all trades, centre requirements and sequencing through to handover.

DELIVERY

Associated Projects delivered the Coffee Hit refurbishment as a coordinated, live-centre hospitality fit-out, managing site protection, centre access and trade sequencing to keep works moving safely and efficiently. We began with demolition and make-good works, supported by progressive waste removal and ongoing site cleaning to maintain a controlled environment throughout the build.

From there, we upgraded the kiosk presentation with a full finishes uplift, including surface preparation and new tiling to key areas, highlighted by a green mosaic feature for stronger brand impact. Timber cladding was sealed and refreshed, while painted and powder-coated trims and black aluminium kicker detailing delivered a clean, durable finish suited to a high-traffic retail setting.

To elevate the customer experience and visibility, we coordinated electrical isolation and reinstatement, provided new power provisions where required, and integrated LED strip lighting to the counter for a sharper, more premium front-of-house feel. Joinery and display elements were installed to support day-to-day operations, alongside a seating refresh, incorporating reupholstery allowances and a new loose furniture package to complete the upgrade.

The final stage focused on brand presence, with new illuminated Coffee Hit signage and pylon elements installed and integrated with lighting/display allowances, ensuring the kiosk stands out on the mall line and is ready for immediate trade.
