Client Challenge: Feasibility Stage
yd. required a fast, brand-accurate refurbishment of an existing corner tenancy at Eastland, including a full de-fit, new frontage works, and improved customer access. Key constraints included a tight 5-week program, live shopping-centre conditions, trade congestion, and complex floor level differences between tenancy and mall requiring compliant ramping. Associated Projects completed a retail fit-out feasibility study to confirm buildability, sequencing, and approvals pathways.
Our Approach (Design Stage)
Using a design & construct process, we aligned early with yd.’s retail guidelines to lock in finishes, services coordination, and build sequencing. Our team provided buildability advice around ramp engineering, mall interface details, and shopfront reconfiguration, while coordinating documentation, trade inputs, and approvals to protect program and brand intent. Retail fit-out design decisions were made with rollout consistency in mind.
Delivery & Execution (Construct Stage)
Associated Projects delivered a turnkey retail fit-out at Eastland in 5 weeks, including de-fit and full refurbishment.
- Live-site delivery: Managed trade congestion and centre access constraints without compromising safety or timeline.
- Complex entry solution: Installed lightweight engineered ramping to overcome mall/tenancy height differences while achieving a level finish.
- High-detail build: Installed client joinery, fixtures, lighting, open ceiling sprayed to brand colours, and new fitting rooms.
